David Malpass served as U.S. Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs in 2017-2019 and as World Bank President in 2019-2023, following 24 years as a leading Wall Street economist and columnist with Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. He is a Distinguished Fellow in International Finance with Purdue University in Indiana and Washington DC. His consulting and public speaking activities focus on economics, markets, geopolitics and leadership. From 1984-1993, Mr. Malpass served in political appointments in Treasury, State and Congressional committees.
Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Co-host of The World Next Week podcast, Marxe faculty director of the master of international affairs program, professor of national security studies at Baruch College’s Marxe School of Public and International Affairs.
Senior Fellow and director of research in Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution, Director of the Strobe Talbott Center on Security, Strategy and Technology, as well as the Defense Industrial Base working group, and is the inaugural holder of the Philip H. Knight Chair in Defense and Strategy.
