ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Sharon Burke is the founder and president of Ecospherics, advising clients on climate change, human security, biodiversity, water, energy, and critical minerals. Throughout her career, she has focused on issues of national security and environmental sustainability. During the Biden-Harris presidential transition, Burke worked on the Defense Agency Review and on the National Security and Foreign Policy teams. Among her senior positions in the U.S. government, Burke served as assistant secretary of defense for operational energy, to improve the energy security of U.S. military operations (2010 to 2014). Burke has also worked in several non-governmental organizations including as vice president and senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security and as an advocacy director at Amnesty International USA.
