ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Anne-Marie Slaughter is the CEO of think tank New America and Professor Emerita of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University. From 2009–2011, she served as director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department, the first woman to hold that position. Prior to government service, Dr. Slaughter was the Dean of Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs (2002–2009) and Professor of International, Foreign, and Comparative Law at Harvard Law School (1994-2002). The author or editor of seven books, she is also a contributor to the Financial Times, Project Syndicate, and Atlantic. In 2012, her article “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All” became the most-read story in the Atlantic’s history, sparking a renewed debate on the continued obstacles to gender equality. She tweets @SlaughterAM.
