About the Topic
So much has changed in the past year since Donald Trump took office as the President of the United States for the second time. Many believe that we already facing a “new world order,” not necessarily because strong-men leaders are winning elections across the world, but because the U.S. has pulled back its support of traditional Western alliances and treaties and increased pressure on major long-time trading partners from China, Mexico, Canada, Japan and Europe. This upending has broken patterns of friendship, business, and trust that have been years in the making. Additionally, it has forced countries outside of the U.S. to regroup and reassess their defense investments and trading partnerships.
