About the Topic
In the twenty-first century, international sport has become a powerful arena of diplomacy, bringing together nations that have had limited or difficult political dialogue in other settings. Major sporting events create opportunities for governments, athletes and citizens to engage across cultural and political divides, promoting mutual understanding, national pride and, hopefully, create new avenues to international co-operation.

consultant whose work as a scholar-practitioner of basketball diplomacy and Franco-American sports diplomacy pioneered the field.
